A Christmas Visit with Eden Bradley and giveaway
Christmas and Kitties with Eden Bradley!
For various reasons, my boyfriend and I hadn’t managed to put up a tree in the few years we’d been living together until last year. We’d both been traveling the previous two Christmases, so this was our first tree together. And to make it even more of an event this was also his very first tree ever!
We kept it fairly small-well, it was just over five feet. I’d actually intended to buy an even smaller tree, sort of ease his way into it, but he chose the tree, and it was perfect. I took him shopping for ornaments that were ‘his’ to make him feel involved, and he actually got excited about having a tree at that point. Our cats were also very excited!
Since my boyfriend had never had a tree, neither had his two nine year-old cats, Sasha and Xev. We also had a kitten who was a year and a half who had never seen a tree, and I was certain Tigerlily would climb it, knock it over and break all the ornaments. We weren’t quite sure what we were in for. There was talk of somehow bracing the tree, hooking it up to fishing line that was screwed into the wall, but I was on deadline, as usual, and we sort of never got around to it.
The tree went up and luckily all the cats wanted to do was sit under it. That, and chew all the bows off the packages. Xev was particularly enamored of the ribbon—she couldn’t leave it alone. But it was so darn cute we let her have at it for a few days. You can see the result of Xev’s ribbon-fest above-and yes, she somehow managed to wind her entire body up in that blue ribbon! It was a very merry Christmas for her! And for us, too. My boyfriend now loves having a tree, which makes me deliriously happy, since it’s just not Christmas to me without a beautiful tree. I’m sure the cats will be in ribbon heaven again this year. Now if we can just figure out where the heck we’re going to put a tree in our new—smaller—apartment…
Midnight Playground, Book Four
Eden Bradley
In a realm of dangerously delicious decadence, three lost souls dare to love…
Ever, owner of London’s infamous Midnight Playground, fears the pain of his past and the weight of centuries are pushing him to the edge of insanity. Not even his favorite indulgences—sex, blood, companionship—hold his interest. And he wonders, what’s the point of immortality when life is unbearably empty?
Into the void stumbles trouble.
Kidnapped, Turned against her will then abandoned by a rogue vampire, Mercy Turned the handsome Deo in a fit of loneliness and despair. Now they stand, frightened and confused, before the Vampire Council to be punished for their unintentional crimes. Their fresh innocence, the intensity of their illegal bond, rekindles Ever’s sexual and emotional fire.
The trio forges a connection that’s more than simply a cure for Ever’s lassitude. Its brilliance drives the shadows from his soul…until Mercy is threatened, and he must draw on his darkness to fight for her life. And risk losing his happily forever after to madness.

Hey Eden, fancy seeing you over here
My favorite ornaments are the ones my daughters make me. They are so special and really show how they have grown over the years
Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and spoil those adorable cats as much as possible.
My favorite ornaments are the ones I made with my kids. Every year we make a picture ornament. We use alot of glitter, noodles and anything else we can find. I like to look back through the years to see how they have grown.–Rachel
Hi Wendy! And Leagh-nice to see you here! Rest assured-our cats are spoiled, as always. *G*
Rachel-I haven’t made ornaments in ages-I loved it when my God-kids were small.

I usually do a themed tree every year. My favorite one was the 2000 Christmas tree. It was done in navy, white and silver for the millennial. But this year I went old school traditional and did green and red with ice sickles. My favorite ornament is a satin green metallic with a quilted pattern over the body. SO PRETTY!
My kitty cat ornaments. i have one for each cat I have ever owned:)
My favorite ornaments are the ones I get from Fancy Feast. I’ve been collecting them since 1987 (I only missed a few years when they sold out of them). All the different kitty ornaments look so nice on the tree! +^..^=
Lisa-I love a themed tree! One year I did all gold, silver and white-it was so pretty!
I love anything kitty-related.

Hi Eden.
Thank you for sharing. Love the kitty pix.
Favorite ornament? Man, I am not sure. I really like all the hand made gifts from my kid-o
My favorite decorations are the ones that my kids made for me when they were little. Now I am starting to get ones from my grandkids and they will be just as cherished.
Hi Eden,
Happy Holidays! My favorite ornaments are the ones my grandkids made, I love anything from them.
Hi Eden! Fancy meeting you over here.
We have a six year old so we have Cars, Snoopy, Spongebob and Winne the Pooh on our tree. We don’t do the balls on the tree yet. My mom has always bought my younger brother and myself our own ornament every year so I have plenty. When I got married, my hubby started getting his own, too. So basically, its a mash up of a little bite of everything.
Merry Christmas Eden and I love the kittie pictures.

Some of my favorite ornaments are those with kitties or puppies. I am a huge animal lover and my dogs & cats are always my babies. Btw, I had a cat named Tigerlily until she passed away a few years ago. She, like most of my pets, was an adopted stray.
Have a wonderful & safe Christmas and New Year.

Great post and even cuter photos! My cat loves the bows and ribbons too. As to ornaments, I love vintage ones from the 50s like the bubble candles. I also love hand blown glass ornaments. Decorations are my favorite part of the holidays!

My fav orn of all time was a plain green orn that when I was little my mother had someone write “julie” on it in glue and dip it in sparkles. At some point after high school it disappeared, my sister still has hers and nobody ever admitted to breaking it. Someday I will re-create it. I also loved the german orns that mom inherited. Thlse also disappeared. I think I need to check my skster’s tree

My favorite ornaments are the ones that my neice and nephews make me. They mean alot to me because of the effort they put into them and just that there homemade. It seems more meaningful then the store bought ones. Thanks so much!

I have been collecting ornaments for years so I have quite a few that I love. One of my favorites is a reproduction of one of the carousel horses from the Smithsonian. My daughter and I argue over it every year! She wants it on her tree and I want it on mine!

I love unusual and handmade ornaments. Some of my favorites are ones we made or found at craft fairs. I have to split the ornaments with my daughter now as she has own place. So not fun because I don’t want to part with any.
Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Merry Christmas Eden!! I love how your kitties help with the holidays!
I am like you also. I am a huge geek with my ornaments. I have some very special ones. My favorite ones are the ones my kids make. In Kindergarten this year and when my daughter was in Kindergarten they make ornaments at school. Just using a plain blub and painted hands white, put on bulb and teachers painted and turned into 5 little snowmen. They are very cute and I treasure them. My kids also buy me one special ornament every year. They also get to pick out an ornament every year. We have a very full tree. But I can tell you where every ornament is from and who or where we got it.
Hello Eden,
Love the kitty pictures… I have to say the favoirte ornaments are made by my boys… I know they are made with love and they love seeing them on the tree. We also have a canoe ornament on our tree from Minong, WI which is always upside down to represent family fun times at the lake where my husbands aunt’s canoe overturned and it was so funny. Everyone in his family has a canoe on their tree. Small things make the holidays so much fun and build upon great family memories.
We have a little snow family ornament that is adorable. I also got a really cute teddy bear ornament this year as a gift that I love. Those are a couple of favorites that I can think of off the top of my head. We also have differnet colored ornaments that since we got a big tree for the first time last year I started alternating color themes so each year will be different.
Hi Eden, my favourite ornament at Christmas time is a musical bell that my husband bought me for our first Christmas as man and wife. It plays Silent Night and is a dark green velveteen with a white satin oval with a lovely little angel playing a violin printed on it.
It is such a tradition to have it out each Christmas that this year my daughter came over especially to make sure I could have it out of the attic to put on display
I heard of a tradition of hiding a pickle ornament so I MADE
OOOps…. I made one then we used it for years. This years the dog keeps eating ornaments off and there isn’t much interest in the tree from my boys since we are so busy running in every direction thanks to sports and cadets this time of year. My kitties or rather this year kitty pretty much ignores it but when we had our real trees they had more interest.
I love hearing about all your ornaments! We finally got our tree up last night and it’s beautiful-and packed with ornaments, which is just the way I like it.
So-time to announce the winner of my contest…and the winner is:
Larena Hubble!
Congrats Larena-just email me with ‘Lisa Renee Jones blog winner’ in the subject line, and let me know which three of my Samhain books you’d like, and I’ll send them to you right away!
Happy Holidays, everyone, and thanks to my wonderful host for having me here!
