Happy Happy Halloween!

Lots of winners! I just did the drawing…For my blog:

Rita, Nicole, Tammy

For the Halloween Prize: ajsplace6011

Email me your addresses to LISARENJONES@Aol.com and I will the prizes out pronto!

New contest posting tomorrow. I already have pictures all ready:) I’ll be doing some more Blog contest very very soon! The closer I get to release the more I’ll do! Oh - I have magnets. Email me if you want a magnet as well:)

The parade was soooo cute today. Diego’s son was a spider and he sang itsy bitsy spider in front of the class. His mom made him an adorable costume. She, by the way, says I write porn. SOUR spot for me, as you can image. So today we stood face to face and I wanted to get in her face lol BUT instead I laughed and enjoyed the show. Diego’s son is really quite adorable. And despite his mom’s attitude towards me she is a loving mom and I respect that in a mom. I see how she loves her son and I forgive her a lot of rudeness for that lol!

Writing….writing writing. Deadlines making me so nervous. I tend to get nervous too easily and I know I really am fine on time and word count but I still worry I will hit a bump and its not moving fast enough. The Knights of White crawled around in my head for months and months and they are quite different from my ballplayer hero now. He has to win her hear without a sword lol! Boy does he have hard work!

Tonight..trick or treating and then more writing. Nothing exciting here! NYC in December…I have my eye on the carrot. The fun is later. Work now!:)

TEN days in NYC for Christmas. What is everyone else doing for Christmas?
And what books do you want under your tree?! I want the Kenyon hardback that came out recently! Oh I just got the coolest book THE BOOK OF ANGELS…I got it for my series but the art is gorgeous and the things about angels so amazingly interesting. Check it out in the bookstore if you get a chance, just to admire the art!

Monday

Wow! I’m behind! I have 3 winners to name. I’m going to post them all tomorrow along with my Halloween winner and catch up on any posts I have missed too! I really enjoy reading them:)

I have a new contest going up too for November 1 so be looking for that. I got magnets in too to send out! I am excited to have them. They turned out nice.

I wrote lots today and the time got away from me. I felt like I really made progress on my Blaze. I also started outlining book three of my Nocturne series. The idea came to me and I just had to get it down. I need to get my first draft of my Blaze done in 3 weeks though, not question about it so I have to stay focused. I have a little schedule going. Three hours of PR in the morning, writing 1 to 5, workout, read over what I wrote and edit, PR to end the day again. No fun in there but its worth it. We have a great XMAS in NYC planned so I will get some rest then knowing I have my deadline behind me!:)

Tomorrow will be a bit off though. Diego’s son, who is Pre-K, is doing a little school play that we are going to in the morning. Then I’ll rush in some writing and then trick or treat with them later that night. Very weird since my kids are so much older. It’s all so new and exciting to Diego and he has so much fun with it.

For many many years now my boys were more interested in decorating the house and scaring kids than trick or treating. My youngest loved to scare them and then give them candy.

Football. My son has the great experience to being on a varsity team that is winning like crazy. But there is more to it than that. The coach is a class act. He told the kids he knew there was party Saturday night with beer and who knew what else. He said he’d go there and personally bench the players that were there jeapardizing their future. My oldest son’s coach just looked the other way. I love a coach that not only wins but does it by teaching the kids to do the right things. He has them all making great grades, walking a clean path, and winning. What a great example for life!

So what are you doing for Halloween?

A busy 24 hours

Well Friday night we WON the game. The senior pictures were fun and awkward. First, me and my ex standing in line to be announced. We hardly talked. I felt like we were married again lol! No, seriously it was just uncomfortable. We were together 17 years going up to take a picture with our son. It felt sad in one way and then happy in another. My son was so excited and happy and he gave me a rose and they announced him on the big screen. We have a college sized stadium thanks to private donations so the big screen is huge and we were up on that. And it was windy and I looked like crap and I sOOO can’t stand thinking what I look like in that picture lol!

Then, yesterday, I forced myself to work through why I couldn’t write. I figured out I had written so much paranormal and was so into the Knight of White world I was not in the right place. So I managed to get back into my characters heads and it really changed things. I had to rewrite what I had written but now I feel good about it. I’ve found writers block for me is a sign that I know something is wrong but I haven’t discovered what yet.

My Nocturne editor has been on vacation and she comes back next week. Hoping to hear what she thinks of my first book. I think that will help me feel good writing forward to. It will be a load off my mind.

Finally, went to a haunted house last night. It was not a good one. We were really disappointed. Diego laughed and laughed though because I draw the attention of the costumed people for some reason. They absolutely wouldn’t leave me alone. Not one. A ton of them and this place was filled with them. Good gosh WHY?!!! That at least proved entertaining for Diego! lol

So what exciting things are filling your weekend?

Hi all!! Well, tonight is SENIOR NIGHT at football! SENIOR NIGHT… my baby is no baby!! HOW can this be?! HOW?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am yuck 39. I had my youngest GASP at 16. Anyway - So next year I move to NYC and I will be 40 and starting this new life. My kids will be roaming free (and I will be scared to death over it) and I will be - well- roaming free too! TOO freaking weird…

Anyway the amazing anthology I am so blessed to be in is out late FEB. ALLURING TALES….
Buy it early! If you are a reviewer and can give us reviews email me!! Lisarenjones@aol.com

BLAH Day

Well I was into my writing and then I got a rejection. An editor just didn’t connect with my voice. That is the hardest rejection because HOW do you fix that? It really upset me and I can’t say why it did so much, but it did. It really messed with my head. So I had to stop writing. Then I go to workout and the gym air is broken. I was drenched and feeling worse after. I’ve decided being a writer can really make you happy one day, and the next you have something happen and you really begin to doubt again. But enough BLAH….someone sent this to me and it at least made me smile. Hope it does you!

Carol is my winner! Email me Carol!

And …..what made you smile recently?

Mr. and Mrs. Fenton are retired. Mrs. Fenton insists that he go with her
to Walmart. He gets bored with all the shopping.

He prefers to get in and get out, but Mrs. Fenton loves to browse.
Here’s a letter sent to her from the store.

Dear Mrs. Fenton,

Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in
our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may ban both of you from our
stores. We have documented all incidents on our video surveillance equipment.
All complaints against Mr. Fenton are listed below.

Things Mr. Bill Fenton has done while his spouse was shopping in Walmart:

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people’s
carts when they weren’t looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the restrooms.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone,
‘Code 3′ in housewares.. and watched what happened.

5. Aug 4: Went to the Service Desk and asked to put a bag of M&M’s on
layaway.

6. Sept 14: Moved a ‘CAUTION - WET FLOOR’ sign to a carpeted area.

7. Sept 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers
he’d invite them in if they’ll bring pillows from the bedding department.

8. Sept 23: When a clerk asks if they can help him, he begins to cry and
asks, ‘Why can’t you people just leave me alone?’

9. Oct 4: Looked right into the security camera; used it as a mirror,
and picked his nose.

10. Nov 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, asked the clerk
if he knows where to find the antidepressants.

11. Dec 3: Darted around the store suspiciously loudly humming the
“Mission Impossible” theme

12. Dec 6: In the auto department, practiced his “Madonna look” using
different size funnels.

13. Dec 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browse through,
yelled “PICK ME!” “PICK ME!”

14. Dec 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumes
the fetal position and screams “NO! NO! It’s those voices again!!!!”

And last, but not least
15. Dec 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door waited awhile, then
yelled very loudly, “There is no toilet paper in here
