Bare with me!

Major computer issues…Sony is making me restore and back up everything and Diego has me between two computers and on CD’s in h*ll…..All this so they will honor my warranty. No writer likes to come to there computer to have a black box that says FATAL ERROR contact your hardware provider! No. Talk about scared to death! I didn’t lose anything but Diego said I had 67,000 emails! That was just in SENT! He’s had heck restoring it all and he took the MCAT today so I couldn’t press too hard. So contest winners are not forgotten! Back in the next 24-48 hours and one way or the other I will have a computer I call my own — even if its temporary!

Resolutions, TV, and more

I am not only reading the resolutions, I’m loving them. I haven’t been able to respond like I want to YET but I will this weekend. I read several to Diego because they made me smile. I’ll pick the winners this weekend too! So keep those resolutions coming. The contest is still open!

You know, I never used to be a big TV fan. Movies I have always loved but not TV. That said, Diego and I found a few shows we liked and began a habit of watching one a night together while we eat. It has become our escape time. It started with SEX IN THE CITY — and yes I knew I was in heaven to have a man who loved that show. Then it ended and we were lost and sad. Desperately we searched for another and we found ANGEL. Then it ended and desperate to see more ANGEL we found Buffy. And dang it — IT ENDED! No discs. No old shows. Gone!

So where did that leave us. Well — we managed to find MANY additions and still we run out of shows! How did a person who NEVER watched TV have this happen?! The ones we LOVE in an addictive way:

The ABSOLUTES:

-24 — was there life before 24?
-Supernatural
-Smallville
-Prison Break — I SO did NOT want to watch this and fought it hard, barely watching the first few shows. Now I can’t wait for the new shows!
-Lost — No matter how irritated I get at those flash backs, dang it , I WANT to know what that Black smoke is and if this really is purgatory or WHAT?!
-American Idol once they hit the finalist shows

The ones we watch when we can’t get the above but still really love:

-Medium — Great to spark my paranomral writing
-Monk — a good laugh that really helps take the edge off
-The Unit — started slow but sucked us in!
-4400

And isn’t the new world of TIVO and TIVO like devices great?! We cram in shows we missed in HALF THE TIME by cutting out all the commercials. So two shows equal one and that is not a joke! The commercials are nuts! We find a show takes 30 minutes without commercials! Isn’t that nuts?! So sometimes we watch two shows but do it in one show time.

So you see?! I’m a TV addict now. I do find it sparks my creativity and I try to watch things that fit my worlds I am creating at the time. Need high speed suspense…24 and Prison Break baby! Need paranormal juices flowing — Supernatural and medium! Character character characer — SMALLVILLE. Think LEX. We want to like him and he’s the bad guy. Brillantly done. I love the way Lex and Clark went through simliar growth moments within the same shows with subplots that mimicked each other in well thought out ways.

Okay off to bed. I have a suspense proposal going off to my editor tomorrow and I am an absolute wreck over it. I love the story but when it comes to hitting send I get all nervous. It’s just my nature.

Night:

PS I am very tired so forgive the many typing errors I most certainly have in this post:)

It’s Tuesday… I think

I had to ask Diego what day of the week it is! Oh my gosh that is so bad. When you work from home the days can get very confusing. Especially when you are a workaholic like me.

I got the addresses from my recipe winners! Thanks ladies!

Okay a new contest to get us jump started…

So what’s your New Years resolution?

Diego and I decided ours is to fight through the crazy work schedule and have a date night each week. What’s yours?

I’ll take posts this week. I’ll pick one random winner and one resolution I love. And it can be wacky, nuty, or you have no resolution and give me a good excuse lol!

So post your resolutoins. I have all kinds of goodies.

Today Diego sent off a bunch of baskets I did up for some of my test readers. He was laughing with the mail guy (he knows him well because he does HUGE ebay selling.) about the choices I put in the baskets. One had books, and this really pretty decorative mini light and all kinds of other stuff. Diego was like A NIGHT LIGHT? I was like — its not a night light! It’s a decorative light. It’s not Spider Man lol! It’s this gorgeous silver decorative piece.

Anyway — Men! Ha!

So send in those resolutions and lets get January rolling!:)

Monday Night

Blaze revisions are off! I am sooo happy to be done. I have a proposal to proof and one to write before I dig into BEAST OF DESIRE. I am really looking forward to BEAST OF DESIRE. I love DES who is the hero. He’s a sexy bad boy in a big way…See a picture and little more about him at the Knights of White blog. I am hoping to get the BEAST WITHIN release date soon.

Today we went to Borders to work. Diego takes the MCAT next week! He is a nervous wreck. I keep telling him to expect to take it twice. This time is practice. He can take it again in only two months. But he wants to score well now of course. He’s worked hard but its a tough test and he’s never been a good test taker. But again he’s worked hard. He took a prep class with practice tests.

I decided to take some crimminal justice classes to improve my suspense. I took several classes and learned a lot. But now I got into some advanced classes and oh my gosh, its tough. I don’t know if this was such a good idea. Once you get past a certain level it gets pretty intense. Still, I do believe it will make my suspense more believable.

Recipe winners! I figured out how to get to them YAY! I love both of these….Did I pick the Eclairs before though. Winners email me at lisarenjones@aol.com for your prizes. Include your mailing address.
