A new week

I still have tons of goodies — if I don’t give them away this week they have to wait until I finish Beast of Darknes. So –I’ll pick winners Friday from all my blog posters this week.

Well- hoping for some book news this week. On pins and needles. It’s BEA week though- a big convention - so probably not:( But one can hope. I didn’t get near as much writing as I wanted to get done this weekend. I I did get an important chapter done that introduces the bad guys to the readers and also did some restructuring. I think it made the pacing, tension, and so, much better.

My oldest turns 23 this week! I turn 40 this year so the math will tell you I had him young. We have enjoyed a close relationship as he’s grown though and I think the age thing actually helps us. I think as parents we take what we have and use it to be the best we can be. What else can we do? I bought him a gift today. He’s harder to buy for now than before. They mature and so do their interests.

I picked up UNBOUND this weekend by Lori Devoti and started reading it and I am loving it. A nice change because lately I have gotten a few chapters into each book and lost interest. I hate when that happens. I had a spell there where I had so many great reads and then something happened. They ran dry. Lots of new books but I was struggling to find the good ones that held my interest.

What does everyone suggest after this one?

Hello hello!

Thank you so much for all the congrats to my son! I told him to come take a peek. He was so cute. He dressed in a suit today (he normally is all about the faded jeans and tennis shoes) and said he wanted to act like he deserved to be beyond high school today! LOL. Today was the last day of class.

So my chapter I rewrote. HATED it again this morning. I ended up throwing it out and starting completely in a new place. I figure if that scene didn’t work that many times it had problems I coudln’t identify but I knew they existed. So it worked! I am ready for a new chapter and THRILLED.

Let’s talk Jack Bauer. I love Jack. I did NOT love this season. Horrible writing. We were left with so many open ended plots.
-Season started with a rash of terrorist activity and bombinings - this was never solved but a focus switched off the problem to a bigger problem but still the one that started it all was not fixed
-The president was in the hopsital and we don’t know if he is dead or alive
-The last season president was rushed to the hosptial stabbed and we don’t know if he is dead or alive
-Last episode and we are given a brother of a dead family member and cloe pregant with no real reason either is shown but taking up time and space with no tight storyline
-The VP’s woman who had an affair was rushed to the hospital and we don’t know why
-The Russian president was downright ridiculous over a nuc attack on the US. He woudln’t be so stupid to start ww 3 by not giving us another 15 minutes to resolve an issue…hello?

I could go on…so so sad.

Please let Jack come back better next season or I will not come back again…

Now Supernatural! Loved the ending.

They gave us some answers and resolution and feel good but also left us in just enough suspense with just enough lingering. And its ongoing unlike 24 so we expect some things to be unanswered. BRAVO on this one. VERY much loving it!

Anyone see these or any others that they have comments on?
Oh and I watched the first episode of heroes and didn’t love it. Now it has so much buzz…maybe I didn’t give it a real shot?

Night!

Monday

Over the weekend I rewrote one chapter 3 times and then rewrote it again today. Ready to pull my newly mended hair out! I always struggle when I switch from one project to another for a few days because I haven’t transitioned between characters well. Even knowing this, its stressing me out. I think I nailed it finally tonight though. I won’t know until I read it fresh tomorrow.

Okay so prizes this week!!

I have a caveman calender, a Harlequin Nascar mini purse, notecard sets that are adorable, huge bags of bookmarks and pens and promo items and an RT cloth bag — and books !
I also have a few guests and features again. I am actually going to start the features tomorrow because I am so darn tired tonight from wrestling that chapter.

Sooo– Post this week as many times as you want and each time goes into the drawing. I’ll pull for all the prizes Friday this time because its a hectic week. My son is graduating High School this week!! YAY Ronald! I am soooo proud of you! He had some real struggles with undiagnoised ADD that finally got recongized and treated his junior year. To graduate and do it on time is HUGE for him. I am very very proud! He is top of his class in my book because he jumped huge hurdles!

Interesting thing is that ADHD makes kids hyper and they tend to get more in-your-face kind of attention for that. I am shocked at how many teachers understand ADHD and ADD as if it was one and the same. ADD can actually be missed easily because everyone is looking for the hyper ones. ADD students can seem as if they are lazy because they tend to be lethargic and they forget everything! They are disorganized and struggle to keep up with things. Amazing what the meds did. AMAZING.

Cheers! Off to watch our DVR version of the 24 finale and then hit the bed:)

Hair color trauma and movies

No the topics don’t relate lol!

Some of you who have been around a while know I tried a new hair color product and made myself look like a skunk. After several attempts to fix it myself I had to go get help. My hair suffered and really got dry. So I just started using two products that are really working. If you need to fix dry hair try Redken EXTREME and then after 5-15 minutes of having that on your hair do 3 minutes with Joico intense moisture. Extreme is protein which damaged hair needs but it needs moisture after or it will seem coarse. Alot of people don’t know that and they think the protein treatment doesn’t work. I only know because my hairstylist told me after I complained the protein product wasn’t working. These bottles should alert us to this. Like we would know on our own? Anyway, a week of this and I can’t believe how much better my hair is.

Also, lesson learned. If you have long hair like me and you change products use TWO boxes to color your hair. It doesn’t matter the box says it’s the same color as your old box. It’s a different product and color. That is where I went wrong. I used one box as I did with my normal product and the color didn’t saturate enough and thus I got many colors on my head!

Movies:

Borat — watched that. Good gried the scene with him and the other guy wrestling nude! I could barely watch. Yuk!!!

We also watched Music and Lyrics– a little slow but cute. LOVED the 80’s mock video with Hugh Grant. Diego rewound it about 5 times to laugh at that video. The funny part is how much that video WAS the 80’s. The song and video in this movie could have been hits then. Worth it to watch this movie just to laugh at that video!

Then, we started E-ragon….yes we had a movie fest…..amazing that this kid at 15 wrote such detailed mythology. That alone had me spellbound. I was pretty blown away that this kid could do that. Of course, he’s older now but when he wrote that book he was a kid! I’ve often wondered how some people seem to be born and already know a craft or skill. If there are past lives, makes you wonder if they had used that gift before.

Prizes — I have lots more books and things to giveaway. Look for details tomorrow!
I will be going into intense writing for my third Nocturne soon so I want to give them out before I have to slide into quiet mode again.

Happy Sunday!
Lisa
