I am working on my last weeks in the thirties….then I turn 40! BLAH…trying to enjoy the thirties! Good thing I have parties at RWA to go to! lol
This weeks winners are: Beth, Jodi, Melissa! Email me at lisarenjones@aol.com
Also this week three more winners from our posters so post to enter. I have a little makeup kit, EC books, and a Beatrice Small Trade and other goodies like EC playing cards! So post to win!
This week will launch the THEKNIGHTSOFWHITE.COM — I can’t wait!
Hard and Fast will be in Walmarts this time NEXT month! Hoping for some arcs soon to give away!
No book news but no declines either so I am clinging to that. Hopefully this week. Well, a little news. One of my editors loved a proposal and asked me to revised the synopsis so hopefully that will be some good news very soon! More when I can say for sure.
I picked up Witch Fire by Anya Bast and am excited to read it and Dean Koontz’s The Husband. What did you guys finish this week? What was great? What wasn’t?
This week with the launch of Knights of White I was wondering what sites you love? Author sites? Reviews sites? Blogs?
I tried to make Knights of White interesting. My web designer is a goddess so she really is making it great! We have the music inspiring the series, the weapons in the books, the hero and herione pictures and so much more. I can’t wait to show it off.
So tell me about the sites youn visit and why?
Lisa

congrats winners!!
Don’t sweat the big 4 0, Lisa. You’re 40 and going strong.
Thank you Robin! I keep telling myself that…lol! Then I remember Diego is 30!
Lisa, I liked 40 much better than 39.
I embraced 39 I think because its the last time for 9 yeras Diego and I will be in the window! 30 and 39 lol!
Congratulations winners. I am looking forward to looking at your new website.
Congrats to the winners! Over the weekend I read Evanovich’s “Lean Mean Thirteen” and enjoyed it just like the other Stephanie Plum books. Those characters still make me chuckle.
I have been wanting to start reading those! I am going to have to do it for sure. I’ve heard such great things
The 40’s are great…honest!
Am presently reading ‘Witch Fire’ also and then will start ‘Master of Dragons’ by Angela Knight.
Congratulations Winners!!!
Your doing good if you’re only just hitting 40, the big 50 is not to far in the future for me. I’ll trade you any time.
It’s funny how we wake up and time has passed. That is how I feel lately. How did it happen? Where did it go? It doesn’t feel that long ago that certain things happened and they WERE long agolol!
Congrats Winners!!! I have several author blogs saved into my favorites list. I try to check them every day or other day. Some I check for contests or just to see what the author has to say. Several of them have topics that each member discusses during the week and its always interesting to see what they have to say. I also enjoy hearing what some of my fav authors have to say about a book they’re reading. It’s always interesting to get their viewpoint. As far as sites go I usually look to see what they have on the coming soon page or some offer short stories that I like to read. I also enjoy the author site that have messageboards/forums where they chat or post excerpts. Congrats on the new site!!!
Hey Stephanie! I have some favorite authors I check too. It’s funny how certain personalities drag you in and you want to check in on them isn’t it?
Happy almost 40th Birthday! Enjoy your being thirty-something week. You’ll probably just keep getting better and better anyway, so I would not worry about turning 40.
I’m looking so forward to HARD AND FAST being released! That cover makes me drool every time I look at it lol.
As far as favorite review and romance sites, I like Romance Junkies, Fresh Fiction, Joyfully Reviewed, and Access Romance to name a few. Author sites are too many to name.
Big hugs, Zara
Zara:
You should see the back cover of Hard and Fast lol! I was shocked. They have a butt check shot with the towel low enough that its pretty darn revealing! I was really surprised! And thank you:)
As for websites I visit, I like fresh fiction, access romance, fog city divas, and JR Ward’s message boards. I absolutely love the Black Dagger Brotherhood!
I like the Brotherhood too lol! I need to check out Fresh Fiction since you and Zara brought that one up and Fog City. I’ve heard about it but not been
Well Lisa sounds like you are having a birthday in July the big 40. Make good of the 40’s they were pretty good for me,but since I have hit the 50’s its been down hill I think I am falling apart.
As far as sites go I visit The Romance Studio, Fresh Fiction, Recommended Reads, all good sites. I visit those pretty often they always show new releases and reviews of the books. Also I visit alot of different authors sites and blogs to see whats happening. I hit Amazon.com pretty regularly to shop and to see what type of rating a book gets. Lately I have been doing a lot of yard work so I haven’t had as much time to read or surf the net. I am trying a new author right now Lois Winston, Love Lies and a Double Shot of Deception, contemtemporary romance its good for a change.
Sometimes I feel like I am falling apart too Gail! Funny - I saw Lois in Walmart tonight on the shelf. The cover really stood out but two ladies were crowding the shelves and storm was coming so I made a mental note to check it when I go back:)
I have Witch Fire by Anya Bast. I haven’t read it yet, but it is sitting in the tbr pile taunting me.
I visit Fresh Fiction, The Romance Studio, Rhapsody Book Club, and Access Romance to check out the new books and the reviews. I like to see what people say about the books. I visit lots of author sites, and wouldn’t know where to start on that.
Fresh Fiction is getting lots of buzz here! I must go see! Witch Fire is good! I am not through yet but enjoying it!
Hey there, Lisa!
Can’t wait to see you at conference in a couple of weeks! Don’t sweat the fact you haven’t heard anything yet. You have momentum now, sweetie!!
Thank you Delilah! And congrats on two more books at Avon! See you in TWELVE days!! woohoo! Can’t wait!
Happy 40th, Lisa! You will love “The Husband”. I have read everyone of Dean Koontz’s books, and that is a great one. I just finished “The Good Guy” by him, another excellent read.
Author sites I visit a lot… besides yours are Romancebytheblog, writerspace, and plotmonkeys.
Have a great week everyone!
I can’t wait to finish up The Husband! I had to stop. I am close to finished Beast of Desire and I was way out of romance mode lol! I started reading a Kenyon Hunter book and snapped back to sexy suspense! The Husband is on my pull out tray under my computer in urgent read placement!
Congrats to the winners! I turn 40 in October myself Lisa so I feel your pain. I am rather dreading it myself. Can’t wait to see your website. Actually both my little ones have been sick with colds so I have not been able to get any reading done. At the same time, I am trying to plan a party for the toddler who is turning 4 on Saturday. I am going into book withdrawal.:-) I love Bianca D’Arc’s website. It has such a fantasy appeal to it. It has awesome graphics and it is easy to navigate!
40 and 4 year olds..See maybe its because mine already beat me up with their teens but I think I’d never have the energy now for that age! Bowing down to you lol! Diego has a 5 year old and I love him to death but man he’s full of energy.
Sorry the kiddos have been sick too! And happy 40 to both of us….We need a happy get drunk kind of celebration I say!
Happy pre-40th birthday!! Also, congrats to this weeks winners. As for sites I regularly visit, I like Harlequin Anerican Authors, writerspace, Fresh Fiction, Celebrity Cafe, Lifetime TV, Redbook mag, The Book Reporter, Recommended Reads and lots of others!!
I have just finished Leave It To Cleavage by Wendy Wax, funny, funny book. I actually found myself laughing out loud at times. I have shifted my TBR pile, so next I will be reading Cherry On Top by kathleen Long.
My daughter rented Poseidon this weekend. I enjoyed it, but I think I like the old version better!
Have a great week!
Wendy Wax..I need to tell my mom about that one. She really enjoys the funny ones and claims they are hard to find. I ike Redbook too! They have a lot of fun online things.
I saw poseidon and I agree — number one was better. I think Titantic was hard to follow though.
I do tend to visit author sites, which there are so many to mention *lol* I like going to them to see what’s news and catch up with interesting bits of highlights.
I also enjoy visiting Blogs but I like participating I don’t have that many but its hard to resist *lol*
I love entering competitions so that also a key factor when looking at sites and if the site is easy to get around with not too many graphics, helps alot ;o) Easy on the eye with catchy tabs makes it more interesting.
Hey Lisa remember its not how old you are, that is only a number, it how you feel, which you come across as young at heart! But have a lovely celebration on your 40! May it be all that you wish it to be :o) *my glass is ready for a cheer*
Some days I feel 60 lol But funny thing is Diego is getting some grey hair. I told him I can’t have this. He is supposed to be my young boy toy!
Happy almost 40th Birthday!
I think many of the sites, forums and blog and the reasons why visit them have already been mentioned. I love contests, finding new books and writers and through some of the author forums I even have found some new friends. Susan Crandall’s forum was one of the best ones, but because of #&%#/ spammers it had to be closed down.
Spammers! This past week someone spammed old blog posts on my site! 15 in one night. I was so furious. What do they think they gain in this?
I’ve just been given another author recommendation for paranormal reading, so thought to share … It’s by Melissa Mayhue and titled: Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband.
I’m soo curious now to read it, has anyone read it? Might take a while before I receive it, but with a title like that *grin* it sure makes me want to take a peep
Thirty Nights with A highland Husband — you got me with the title. I have to look it up. If you get it first pop in and tell us. I like a good highlander and I can’t write them but dang I love an author who can!
Happy almost Birthday.:) I just started reading Witch Fire and am loving it so far.
I did go to the new site and I liked it very much
Thank you Debby!!! I am so so excited about it and the books!
Beautiful to visit here Lisa. I’m excited about your upcoming books out for the next 3 or 4 months in a row, right? Your blaze book should be up on the eharlequin site July first :)
I’m reading a fastinating fantasy romance by Linda Mooney called THE BATTLE LORD’S LADY. I recommend it! I can’t wait for WITCH FIRE to arrive so I can read it too. I missed HURTS SO GOOD so I need to get that one!
I enjoy going to romance sites that have a full variety there with lots of resources, like author links, book ads, interviews, etc. Its great to find some I missed or don’t know of in one place. Then i can find the authors sites and all. I so wished I could visit more with the blogs more and groups but don’t get much time to. Your new site is beautiful. I went and commented over there! Happy soon 40th! What will you be doing to celebrate it?
Waving! Hi Cathie! Thank you for thinking of that on the Blaze site! yes!! woohoo! And yes I have releases in August, Sept, and November:) I am slowly getting release dates for next year but it looks like about 5 or 6 total and I am thinking about the same the next year so that’s at least steady!
You know to celebrate 40 I am hoping to find Hard and Fast at Walmart. Just that landmark in my career with a landmark in my life feels big. I had set a goal for my writing to feel it was really a career by 40 so its pretty amazing that my first Blaze got scheduled for when it did. It sold after my Nocturne series!
Congrats to the winners!!!!! I love the new site!
Thank you for checking it out Amy:) woohoo! I am way way excited!
wtg winners. the blaze looks hot Lisa. congrats.
Congrats to the winners. I enjoy visiting other romance sites b/c you learn more about the authors and their books. You also get to chat with the authors at times. It’s a great way to learn more about both really. I visit Alison Kent Bah Blog, Fog City Divas, Moonglade Elite Authors and a few more.
Antoher fog divas– must go see them!
I think I’ll sit down and cry. I could be your Mother, even Tammy who is looking at 50. Oh well, at least I’m still here and still flying my own glider. I just looked at The Romance Studio and there it was, Hard and Fast on the home page. I’m reading The Silent Scream by Betty La Pierre and Wonder Witch by Ashlyn Chase.
Happy Birthday, Lisa!!!
LOL! Thanks for noticing Hard and Fast at Romance Studio! And 40 isn’t so far from 50! I think those ten year landmarks are just hard. My oldest son was talking about his fear of 25 and I told him I was hanging up…lol
Hey Lisa, I check out your new site Knights and White and the Knights are hunks. I finished the book by Lois Winston Love Lies and a Double Shot of Deception. If you like contempory check her out the book was pretty good.
Thanks for checking out the Knights! Another Lois thumbs up! Go Lois! You know I think that is her first book so she would be excited!
Thanks Lisa!
I visit so many author websites (and blogs) that I can’t keep up! Especially when I have company and can’t get on the computer!
I checked out your Knights website. The Knights are hot!
