What: How to pitch and win over a perfect agent and publisher! Getting published with a traditional publishing house means you need to finish the book but when it's done you must score an agent. To do this, you must write a great novel but you won't ever get the chance to get it in front of the right people if you can't format, pitch, and present a winning proposal.

​ CLASS #2: Is your manuscript ready to be published?

When: Saturday, October 26, 2024 · 9am - 11am MDT​

What: You did it! You didn't just say one day: "I will write a book." You actually wrote a book. But how do you know it's really good? How do you know it's ready to send to agents and publishers?

Agents get paid one hundred percent on commission and will be looking for the same things they know publishers want to publish. That means story, plot, prose, grammar, characters, and more. While this class will not deep dive into these items, it will do a final manuscript polish to ensure your submission is ready.

CLASS #3: Getting Published. Your Characters Matter.

When: Saturday, November 9, 2024 · 9am - 11am MDT

What: So you want to write a book. Then you must know your characters and they must be believable, but most importantly they must connect with readers. That doesn't mean they have to be nice guys or nice at all. Look at the TV show Dexter. The writers were so brilliant they made us root for a serial killer. How did they do that? Why do you want to know how? Because no matter what genre you are writing in if your readers don't want to spend time with your characters and root for their outcome, they won't keep turning the page.
